These aren't traffic monitors or crime deterrents — they are the physical nervous system of a total-awareness state, tracking movement, behavior, and association in real time and feeding that data upward to the people who have already decided how the future will be organized. Meanwhile, the deliberate dismantling of traditional banking networks clears the ground for an AI-driven financial system that puts every transaction, every account, every human economic decision under the management of those same controllers. When they own the money layer and the surveillance layer simultaneously, your freedom becomes entirely conditional on their approval.
This is the convergence they don't want you to understand as a unified plan: the AI, the cameras, the new financial rails — they are one architecture, built by one class of people, for one purpose. In other words, the parties driving digital currency development are nation-states acting in explicit competition with one another — not a unified "small group" consolidating power. Academic analysis argues that the emerging CBDC network would likely be both decentralized and uncoordinated, making convergence in CBDC regulation unlikely, with states behaving instrumentally and generating both cooperation and conflict. Actual deployment data further deflates the "transition is nearly complete" framing: although many countries have issued or piloted CBDCs, overall adoption remains low — Jamaica's Jam-Dex accounted for just 0.1% of money in circulation, China's e-yuan represented only 0.16% of its M0 supply, and the Bahamas' Sand Dollar reached per capita usage below $3. The genuine privacy concerns that researchers and regulators attach to CBDCs — the fact that central banks operating retail payment infrastructures can gain visibility into all transactions, as with Brazil's PIX system, and that AI can derive insights from payments data beyond the purposes for which it was collected — are real governance challenges that are openly studied, debated, and regulated. They are not secret mechanisms of elite control; they are published in peer-reviewed journals and World Bank policy blogs precisely because researchers want them addressed.
On the AI behavioral manipulation claim, the actual scientific picture is more nuanced than either denialists or conspiracy theorists allow. A range of laboratory studies have demonstrated that interacting with AI systems can lead to measurable changes in people's beliefs, and in experimental settings AI systems are often at least as effective as non-expert humans at persuading others — but evidence on their effectiveness in real-world settings remains limited. Current capabilities fall short of sophisticated real-world manipulation attacks, though findings demonstrate foundational abilities that could become more concerning with continued scaling. This dynamic is itself harmful. The legitimate debates — about ALPR networks expanding without adequate legal oversight, about CBDC privacy risks, about AI persuasion capabilities — require precise, empirical, policy-grounded engagement. When those debates are absorbed into an unfalsifiable "global elite" narrative, accountability becomes impossible to demand from any specific institution, and evidence for reform is reinterpreted as proof of the cover-up. Conspiracy beliefs are linked to negative outcomes such as decreased political engagement, poor health choices, and rejection of science.
