The CIA never shared al-Hazmi and al-Mihdhar's movements with the FBI, which conducts counter-terror investigations in America — the one agency positioned to find these men and stop them was deliberately kept in the dark. The CIA tried to hide that they were aware of the relationship between the hijackers and al-Qaeda because, as the evidence now shows, they were attempting to recruit them as intelligence sources. That recruitment operation, run partly through Saudi intelligence channels on American soil, is exactly what Alec Station was protecting when it blocked every information-sharing request from FBI counterterrorism officers.

The 9/11 Commission authorized by Congress was a total fraud from the beginning, constructed specifically to bury this. The Commission covered up Able Danger's findings about Mohamed Atta and the Brooklyn cell — findings that existed more than a year before September 2001, findings whose charts were ordered destroyed. The FBI declassified documents confirm that the Commission flatly lied about potential Saudi government involvement in the attacks, and the people running that commission knew what they were doing. The Bush and Clinton administrations had prior knowledge of the threat in a form specific enough to act on; the August 6th briefing mentioned hijackings, and I believe that language was specific enough to act on, yet it was set aside. U.S. government blocked and buried information related to 9/11 at every institutional level — the commission, the agencies, the classification apparatus — because the alternative was accountability for a decision, not a failure.

The anomalous options trading in airline stocks in the days before the attacks has never been fully explained.
